The SK CSF8.8 from Yukon Gear is a solid crush sleeve eliminator kit designed for the Ford 8.8in and Ford 7.5in rear differential. When performing a ring and pinion swap, rear differential rebuild, or any service that requires pinion removal, the SK CSF8.8 replaces the factory crush sleeve with a solid spacer and precision shim set, allowing exact pinion bearing preload to be set and reset repeatedly without the need to source and install a new crush sleeve with each rebuild.

Installation Instructions
- Safely raise and support the vehicle. Drain differential fluid from the Ford 8.8in or 7.5in housing.
- Remove the pinion nut and flange from the pinion shaft.
- Remove the pinion seal. Press or drive the pinion shaft out of the housing, noting the shim arrangement.
- Remove the old crush sleeve from the pinion shaft bore.
- Clean all components and inspect pinion bearings and races. Replace as needed.
- Install the solid spacer from the SK CSF8.8 onto the pinion in place of the crush sleeve.
- Add shims from the SK CSF8.8 kit as needed to achieve target pinion bearing preload when the pinion nut is torqued.
- Install a new pinion seal. Reinstall the pinion flange and torque the pinion nut while monitoring rotating torque until preload specification is achieved.
- Adjust shims as needed to fine-tune preload within specification.
- Reinstall the differential cover with a new gasket or RTV. Fill with the correct Ford-spec differential fluid to the proper level. Lower vehicle.
