Installation Instructions
- Safely lift and support the vehicle. Drain the differential fluid completely.
- Remove the rear axle shafts by unbolting the retainer plates at the axle flange.
- Remove the differential cover and clean all mating surfaces thoroughly.
- Remove the pinion shaft lock bolt, pinion shaft, and spider gears from the existing carrier.
- Unbolt and remove the carrier bearing caps, marking their orientation for reinstallation.
- Press the ring gear off the old carrier and press or drive carrier bearings off.
- Transfer the ring gear to the YGLGM11.5-30 Grizzly Locker carrier using proper bearing press tools.
- Press new carrier bearings onto the Grizzly Locker carrier.
- Install the Grizzly Locker assembly into the housing and torque bearing caps to specification.
- Set ring gear backlash to 0.005 to 0.009 inch using shims. Verify with a dial indicator.
- Check gear contact pattern with marking compound and adjust as needed.
- Reinstall the differential cover with new RTV sealant or gasket, torquing bolts to spec.
- Reinstall axle shafts and retainer plates, torquing bolts to factory specification.
- Fill differential with manufacturer-recommended gear oil to the proper level.
