Installation Instructions

1. Drain both front and rear differential fluid and remove the differential covers. Clean the housings thoroughly.
2. Remove the front driveshaft and rear driveshaft from the differentials.
3. Remove the carrier assembly from each differential housing. Inspect carrier bearings for wear; replace if needed.
4. If the JK was originally equipped with the 3.21 ratio, replace the front carrier with a compatible 4.56 carrier before proceeding.
5. Press the new ring gear onto the carrier for both front and rear, following Yukon Gear torque specifications for ring gear bolts.
6. Install the new pinion bearing sets onto the new pinion gears using a press. Do not reuse old pinion bearings.
7. Set pinion depth using the provided shim pack and a dial indicator per the included instructions. This step is critical for correct gear mesh pattern.
8. Install the pinion into the housing with the new crush sleeve (included). Set pinion bearing preload per specifications using an inch-pound torque wrench.
