Installation Instructions

4. Remove pinion yoke, nut, and crush sleeve. Drive out pinion and press off pinion bearings.
5. Press new Timken pinion bearing races into the housing. Press new bearings onto the pinion shaft.
6. Select correct pinion depth shims using a depth gauge and install pinion assembly.
7. Install new crush sleeve. Install pinion yoke and torque pinion nut to achieve specified rolling preload.
8. Adjust carrier side shims for correct backlash (0.006-0.010 in. typical) and preload. Torque bearing caps.
