Installation Instructions

2. Mark and remove carrier bearing caps. Remove carrier assembly from differential housing.
3. Press off original carrier bearings. Install new Timken carrier bearings using a press.
4. Remove pinion yoke, pinion nut, and old crush sleeve. Drive out pinion shaft and press off pinion bearings.
5. Press new Timken pinion bearing races into housing bores. Press new pinion bearings onto pinion shaft.
6. Determine correct pinion depth shim using a depth gauge tool. Install shims and pinion assembly.
7. Install new crush sleeve. Reinstall pinion yoke and torque pinion nut while checking rolling preload.
8. Install carrier with correct side shims for specified backlash and bearing preload. Reinstall marked caps to torque spec.
9. Apply thread locker to all ring gear bolts. Torque in a cross pattern to specification.
