Installation Instructions
- Drain differential fluid and remove the driveshaft from the pinion flange.
- Mark the pinion yoke position for reference, then remove the pinion nut and yoke.
- Tap the pinion shaft rearward and remove the pinion assembly from the housing.
- Press off the rear bearing from the pinion shaft and remove all shims.
- Press new rear bearing race and front bearing race from PK F8.8-A into the housing bores.
- Set pinion depth using shims from the kit and verify gear contact pattern with marking compound.
- Once pinion depth is correct, install a new crush sleeve, press on the front bearing, and drive in the new pinion seal.
- Reinstall the yoke and torque the pinion nut gradually while measuring rotating torque until the specified pinion preload is reached.
- Apply thread locker to pinion nut per Yukon Gear's instructions.
- Reinstall driveshaft, fill with differential fluid, and road-test.
