Installation Instructions
- Safely raise and support the vehicle. Remove the wheel and brake assembly on the axle side being serviced.
- Remove the axle shaft from the housing using the appropriate puller tool.
- Press or drive out the old axle bearing from the axle shaft using a bearing press.
- Remove the old axle seal from the axle tube using a seal puller.
- Clean the bearing bore in the axle housing and the axle shaft journal thoroughly.
- Press the new Torrington bearing from the AK 1563 kit onto the axle shaft to the correct depth.
- Install the new seal into the axle housing bore, seating it flush and square.
- Reinstall the axle shaft into the housing, being careful not to damage the new seal lip.
- Reinstall the axle retaining hardware, brake assembly, and wheel. Torque all fasteners to spec.
- Repeat on the opposite side if servicing both axles. Check for leaks before returning vehicle to service.
