Installation Instructions

  1. Safely raise and support the front of the vehicle, then remove both front wheels.
  2. Disconnect the ABS sensor (if equipped with rear-only ABS) from the top of the factory unit bearing and set it aside without damaging the wiring harness.
  3. Remove the brake caliper and hang it from the frame with wire to avoid brake line stress.
  4. Unbolt the factory unit bearing from the steering knuckle. Remove the unit bearing and outer stub axle shaft as a single assembly, sliding it out of the axle tube.
  5. Clean the steering knuckle mating surface and inspect the knuckle for cracks or wear before proceeding.
  6. Apply a thin coat of anti-seize to the knuckle-to-spindle mating surface, then install the YA WU-03 spindle onto the knuckle and torque to specification.
  7. Install the dust shield and spacers per the included instruction sheet, then press the new Timken bearing races into the hub assembly using a bearing race driver until each race seats fully.
  8. Pack the new Timken tapered roller bearings with high-quality wheel bearing grease, then install the inner bearing and seal into the hub.
  9. Slide the new hub assembly onto the spindle, install the outer bearing, and thread on the inner spindle nut with the locking stud facing outward. Adjust bearing preload and lock with the provided tab washer and outer nut per the torque specifications in the instruction sheet.
  10. Reinstall the brake rotor, caliper and ABS sensor. Press the new wheel studs into the hub.
  11. Slide the Yukon 4340 Chrome-Moly outer axle shaft into the axle tube, connecting to the inner axle via the appropriate U-joint.
  12. Install the Yukon Hardcore locking hub: seat the spring retainer, apply grease to the outer splines and ramp surfaces, install the spring, spacer and hub body, then install the retaining housing followed by the large circlip. Attach the hub face in the locked position with tabs aligned.
  13. Torque all fasteners to the specifications listed in the included instruction sheet. Confirm the hub engages and disengages cleanly before reinstalling the wheels.
  14. Repeat the entire procedure on the opposite side, lower the vehicle, torque lug nuts and perform a low-speed test drive before returning to normal use.
