Why Yukon Super Joints Require a Specific Grease

Yukon Super Joints are designed to replace factory U-joints in high-stress applications including lifted trucks, rock crawlers, and heavy-tow rigs. The tighter tolerances and heavier bearing loads inside a Super Joint create conditions that will break down conventional lithium or moly-based greases in a short time. Installation Instructions

1. Clean the Super Joint bearing cups and trunnion caps thoroughly before packing with grease.
2. Pack each bearing cup with the Yukon Super Joint grease, ensuring the needle bearings are fully coated and no air pockets remain.
3. Apply a light coat of grease to the trunnion ends before seating the bearing caps.
4. Reinstall the Super Joint into the yoke, ensuring the retaining clips or bolts are properly seated and torqued per the joint kit specifications.
5. For re-greasing an installed Super Joint equipped with a grease fitting, use the compatible Yukon grease gun (sold separately) to inject grease until fresh grease appears at the seals.
6. Wipe away any excess grease from the joint exterior and surrounding driveshaft components.

Note: Always use Yukon-specified Super Joint grease in Super Joint applications. Substituting a different grease type voids the Super Joint warranty and can result in premature joint failure.
