The Thermal R&D B917-C917 is a 3-inch cat-back exhaust system designed for the 2020 and newer Ford Explorer ST 3.0L EcoBoost. Using full 3-inch T304 stainless steel mandrel-bent tubing from the catalytic converter outlets back to polished quad angle-cut tips, the B917-C917 unlocks a noticeably deeper exhaust note compared to the stock Explorer ST while keeping the daily commute drone-free. True Helmholtz Technology is built into the B917-C917 to cancel the resonant frequencies that create drone at highway speeds. The system mates to the OEM catalytic converters, uses all factory hanger locations, and requires no cutting or welding. Polished quad tips are sized to fit cleanly within the OEM Explorer ST rear valance. The B917-C917 is made in Lancaster, California and backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty to the original vehicle owner, non-transferable, not covering commercial or racing use.

Apply penetrating fluid to factory exhaust clamps and isolator bushings before beginning. Starting at the rear, unclip the hanger isolators and work forward to the catalytic converter outlets. Disconnect the stock system at the OEM cat outlet clamps and remove in sections. Install the B917-C917 beginning at the catalytic converter outlets, leaving all clamps loose. Route rearward onto the OEM hanger rods, adjusting the polished tips for symmetry within the Explorer ST rear valance before torquing all clamps. Start the vehicle and check all connection points for exhaust leaks. No cutting, welding, or drilling is required.
