What is the 30-0300NS?It is an AEM X-Series digital wideband UEGO controller/gauge package without an oxygen sensor.
Can every version use an FAE sensor?No blanket compatibility is established. Current pages advertise FAE/Bosch auto-detection, but the older manual is Bosch-only and AEM restricts the FAE replacement to gauges with the 0400 serial identification. Match the actual hardware.
Is an LSU 4.2 sensor suitable?The checked manuals specify Bosch LSU 4.9, or AEM/FAE on the supported newer version. They do not establish LSU 4.2 compatibility; do not force a connection or alter its calibration resistor.

Installation Instructions
- Read the matching Bosch-version manual or FAE-version manual. Identify the actual gauge and sensor before wiring; do not combine versions to infer compatibility.
- Follow the exact sensor-placement guidance: 18 in. downstream of the exhaust port or turbocharger, after the turbocharger and before catalytic/emissions devices, away from tailpipe fresh-air scavenging. Eliminate exhaust leaks.
- Use the correct bung and follow the matching sensor orientation and tightening instructions. Keep an installed sensor connected to a functioning powered controller during engine operation.
- Connect red to switched 12 V through a 5 A fuse and black to power ground. Avoid cutting or extending the sensor harness; support and protect it from heat and abrasion.
- For analog logging, connect white positive and brown negative to the receiving differential input or follow the manual's signal-ground guidance. Match the X-Series calibration above rather than a Classic gauge calibration.
- For CAN, assign a distinct supported ID to each controller and terminate the physical bus ends correctly. External hardware must support the AEMnet message format; connector shape alone does not establish compatibility.
- Use rCAL for a new supported sensor. If ACAL is needed, remove the sensor from the exhaust and follow the clean-air procedure. Mount the gauge in a dry interior location; it is not waterproof.
