aFe 54-11648 is a pair of black powder-coated aluminum Dynamic Air Scoops for the specified BMW 1-Series frontal inlet arrangement. The driver and passenger scoops direct air from behind the factory kidney grilles toward the original intake snorkel. The exact package contains both scoops and a T20 bit; the factory duct, plastic pins and screws remain in use.

Current manufacturer names E82/E88 128i, 135i and 1M applications within 2008-2013 with N52, N54 or N55 engines as appropriate. Exact-part retailer tables support 128i 2008-2013, 135i 2008-2013, 135is 2013 and 1 Series M 2011. These original model-year groups are preserved. The 135i engine changes from N54 in 2008-2010 to N55 in 2011-2013; the 135is uses N55, the 128i N52 and the 1M N54. Match the actual E82/E88 inlet and mounting arrangement, particularly on modified vehicles. The broad manual E8X/1M heading is not permission to add every 1-Series chassis, engine or model year.

Installation Instructions

Position driver scoop 05-01033 and passenger scoop 05-01032 with their tabs on the plastic support. Have an assistant hold the scoops while the other person reinstalls the original cover and plastic pins. The pin clips must pass through the holes in the scoops to secure them. Reinstall the original T20 screws. The illustrated sequence ends without separately stating battery restoration; reconnect after work is complete using the vehicle service procedure. No numeric torque or mileage recheck interval is supplied.
