BMW 135i Parts & Accessories

The BMW 135i is the performance coupe of the E82 lineup, powered by either the N54 twin-turbo or the N55 single-turbo inline-six. Both engines respond extremely well to forced induction modifications, making the 135i one of the best value-per-dollar performance platforms in the used BMW market.

Popular Upgrades

Downpipes and turbo-back exhaust systems are the highest-impact bolt-on mods for the 135i, opening up significant power gains alongside an ECU tune. Cold air intakes and upgraded intercoolers lower charge temperatures and support higher boost pressure. Coilovers and adjustable suspension components sharpen the 135i's handling and allow owners to dial in the perfect track-day setup.

How much power can the BMW 135i make with bolt-on mods?

The N54 twin-turbo in the 135i is one of BMW's most tuning-friendly engines ever produced. With a downpipe, intake, intercooler, and an ECU stage 2 map, 400–420 whp is achievable without touching the internals. Upgraded LPFP and injectors combined with bigger turbos push the N54 past 600 whp on the stock bottom end.

What is the difference between N54 and N55 tuning on the 135i?

The N54 twin-turbo platform has the larger tuning community, more supporting parts, and higher peak power potential. The N55 single-turbo responds well to stage 1 tunes and basic bolt-ons but tops out at lower power levels with stock turbo hardware. Both engines benefit greatly from a downpipe and ECU tune as a starting point.
