Manufacturer 135i chassis are E82/E88, 335i chassis E90/E92/E93 and X1 chassis E84, with N55 3.0L turbo engines. Exact selected dry retailer tables positively include the original 2013 135is row; confirm its actual engine, housing and connections because the primary/manual name 135i without separately naming 135is. The oiled element in the shared bill belongs to another version. The illustrated filter-flange clamp is used with the retained original flexible-coupling clamp. Retain the original flexible coupling, original MAF sensor, three bottom mounting grommets, original rear metal bracket and screws, inlet duct and all three wire attachments. No new silicone coupling, replacement sensor, tuning module or extra bracket is itemized. The current replacement-filter dimensions differ from the generic overview; confirm the actual filter and housing revision.

Does every 2012-2013 335i body qualify?No. The reviewed manufacturer 335i application specifies E90/E92/E93 N55. Confirm the actual chassis rather than using the model name alone.
Is the original flexible coupling replaced?No. The manual leaves it and its clamp in place, then inserts the new tube into that original coupling.
Which housing mounts are transferred?All three original bottom grommets, plus the rear metal bracket and its original screws.
What happens to the three wire attachments?Release them from the original rear bracket and restore each to its corresponding position after the bracket and housing are installed.

Does the dyno certify dry peak-to-peak gains?The run notes do not identify filter media. Its marked point differs by 11.77 hp and 14.02 lb-ft, while separate maxima differ by 3.09 hp and 3.73 lb-ft. Both runs also use modified exhaust and an aftermarket intercooler.
What tightening and follow-up checks apply?Secure the filter and retained coupling clamps and check every connection. Recheck bolts, clamps and connectors after 100-200 miles; no numeric torque is stated.
Verify aFe 51-76313. Read all twelve pages and figures A-G. Work on a cool engine and disconnect the negative battery terminal as directed. Loosen the original flexible-coupling clamp near the MAF and leave the coupling and clamp in position. Release the four airbox clips without losing them, unplug the MAF and remove the upper airbox/tube assembly and filter. Release the three wires from the rear bracket, lift the lower airbox off its three posts and detach it from the inlet duct. Transfer all three bottom grommets and the rear bracket with original screws. Transfer the MAF in its original orientation, replacing its screws with the supplied M4 fasteners. Align the housing with the inlet duct before pressing it onto the three mounts; keep the bracket on the correct side of the wires and restore all three attachments. Seat the filter until its tabs click and gently pull to check retention. Insert the tube into the retained flexible coupling first and then into the filter, reconnect the MAF and secure both clamps. Check all connections and electrical plugs, and fit the optional housing plug if desired. Recheck bolts, clamps and connectors after 100-200 miles. The manual provides no numeric tightening torque.
The exact current dry manufacturer page, all twelve manual pages, full bill, assembly diagram, figures A-G and linked dyno were inspected. The manual is byte-identical to the current oiled manual and explicitly lists both media choices. The dry page states 16 percent more airflow and 400 CFM at 7 inches H2O, but links no comparison chart verifying those dry ratings. The linked dyno identifies Momentum V1 without specifying the filter media; it is not a separate dry-filter gain certification. At 4,400 rpm it shows 260.88 versus 249.11 hp and 311.41 versus 297.39 lb-ft, differences of 11.77 hp and 14.02 lb-ft. Separate maxima are 300.80 versus 297.71 hp and 312.37 versus 308.64 lb-ft, differences of 3.09 hp and 3.73 lb-ft. Thus advertised 12 hp / 14 lb-ft should not be read as peak-to-peak differences. Both July 12, 2017 runs show SAE 1.02, smoothing 5, BMW Performance exhaust, aftermarket intercooler, no tune/module, fourth gear, 1,500-7,000 rpm and 20-percent load. These conditions limit generalization to a stock car. The service-filter dimensions differ from generic overview wording; verify actual revision.
