aFe 54-74202-1 is the Momentum intake for the specified Chevrolet Corvette C7 Z06 supercharged V8-6.2L. One Pro 5R filter fits the XLPE window housing and molded tube. Two aluminum mounting spacers and a supplied coolant hose support the documented hood-vent-clearance reroute.
Both exact current manufacturer pages and both exact 16-page manuals identify Corvette Z06 C7 2015–2019 V8-6.2L supercharged. The existing Z06 row, original bounds and all fitment tags are retained. Some exact-part retailer tables also list 2019 ZR1, and another manufacturer-document mirror combines an LT4/LT5 engine label with a Z06 model heading. That source ambiguity does not establish a new ZR1 mapping under the current exact linked Z06-only instructions. No Stingray, Grand Sport or ZR1 scope is added. This is the supercharged application with a documented coolant-line reroute, not the naturally aspirated C7 intake procedure.

Transfer the three original housing grommets and place the two supplied aluminum spacers on the two grommets shown in the manual. Retain the original mounting stud, two housing screws, MAF O-ring, factory vent hose and radiator air-outlet channel/four screws. The current manual requires replacing the short hard plastic coolant line between the check valve and T-fitting with the furnished hose, routing it over the intake tube under the radiator air outlet. It must not kink, load the MAF or approach the serpentine belt. The cable tie secures it to the vent hose. Some retailer headings say both Pro 5R and Pro DRY S filters; the current exact manual explicitly assigns one selected filter to each respective intake. No separate large filter/housing clamp, unused-port plug, MAF extension, sealant or threadlocker is listed in this kit BOM. The coupling is called a hump in this manual; service-code similarity does not justify importing the other C7 kit’s procedure. Service supplies are separate.
aFe Power develops application-specific intake, filtration, exhaust, cooling, tuning, suspension, drivetrain, and truck-performance components supported by product testing and documented installation requirements.
One 24-90088 Pro 5R filter for the selected intake. The manual’s alternate row is for the other intake, not a second filter in each kit.
Does Pro DRY S require oil?No. D uses three-layer oil-free synthetic media; R uses five-layer pre-oiled cotton gauze.
Does the exact linked manual approve a new ZR1 application? It names Z06 2015–2019. Broader ZR1 retailer and engine-label claims remain source holds, without a new mapping here.
Why is coolant-line work required? The manual reroutes the short hard plastic line to clear the hood vent, replacing it with the supplied 15-inch 3/8-inch-ID hose.
How should the new coolant hose be routed?Over the intake tube under the radiator air outlet, without kinks or MAF pressure, tied to the vent hose clear of the serpentine belt.
What mounting pieces are transferred?Reuse three original grommets and fit both supplied aluminum spacers at the illustrated two grommets; retain the factory stud and two screws.
Should the vent-fitting hex be forced flush? No. The manual identifies the small NPT fitting gap as normal.
What temperature, torque and inspection requirements apply? The engine must be cold before coolant-line disconnection. No numeric torque is specified; recheck secure connections after 100–200 miles.
Verify aFe 54-74202-1. Work on a completely cold engine, especially before disconnecting any coolant line. Remove and retain the radiator air-outlet channel and its four screws. Disconnect the MAF, loosen the throttle-body/housing clamps, detach the original vent hose and remove the original intake tube. Remove and retain the two housing screws and pull the airbox off its mounting grommet. Transfer all three original housing grommets and install the two supplied aluminum spacers at the two illustrated grommets. Push the selected filter into the housing until it locks. Install the assembly over the original stud and secure it with the two original screws. Transfer the MAF using its original O-ring and the supplied M4 x 0.7 x 8mm screws. Install the single NPT vent fitting; a small gap under the hex is normal. Fit the silicone coupling over the throttle body, slide the tube into the filter first and then into the coupling. Align and fit the two T-bolt clamps; if necessary remove their nuts completely to open the clamps, then restore the nuts and tighten. Reconnect the MAF and factory vent hose. With the engine cold, place a shop towel below the short hard plastic coolant line between the check valve and T-fitting. Slice that hard plastic line at both ends as instructed and remove it. Replace it with the supplied 15-inch coolant hose and secure both ends with the two mini clamps. Route the hose over the tube and under the radiator air outlet without kinks or pressure on the MAF; rotate the original wing clamp if needed. Tie the coolant hose to the vent hose to prevent contact with the serpentine belt. Restore the original radiator air outlet and verify all connections/clearance. Recheck secure connections after 100–200 miles. No numeric torque, battery-disconnection or engine-cover step is specified.
The exact selected-media bench chart shows 303 CFM, approximately 25% above stock 242 CFM at 7 inches H2O. Both linked Dynojet images compare a February 10, 2015 baseline with a February 25 intake run on a 2015 C7 Z06 6.2L supercharged vehicle. Both run notes state OE exhaust, OE headers and OE tune, fourth gear, Track Mode and a 1,600-rpm start; intake notes also say after miles. Baseline SAE factor is 1.01 at 72.60°F, 29.04 in-Hg and 29% humidity. The exact R chart around marked 6,209 rpm shows 600.73 versus 554.36 hp, a 46.37-hp difference, and 508.12 versus 468.91 lb-ft, a 39.21-lb-ft difference, approximately the 46 hp/39 lb-ft headline. Independent maxima 601.67 versus 558.36 hp differ by 43.31 hp; 604.01 versus 584.91 lb-ft differ by 19.10 lb-ft. Intake conditions are 69.74°F/29.15 in-Hg/19% humidity, SAE 1.00. Different-date point and peak comparisons with different conditions/correction factors are not guaranteed gains or calibration compatibility for every vehicle. No fuel, fan or wheel/tire details absent from these charts are borrowed. Both current exact product pages state this intake is not CARB exempt and is unavailable for purchase in California or use on California-registered vehicles; the manual restricts California/public-road use.
