This JXB Performance B6002A0 billet driveshaft centre support bearing carrier replaces the factory carrier on the Audi B6 and B7 A4 with 01A or 01E transmissions, B6 and B7 S4 with the 0A3 transmission, and B7 RS4 with the 0A3 transmission. The two piece body clamps around the OEM centre support bearing and holds it on centre with thick polyurethane isolator bushings, so driveshaft alignment and torque delivery stay consistent instead of drifting as the original rubber sags and cracks. Street and track bushing durometers are offered and both are interchangeable on the same carrier.

What is the difference between the street and track bushings?Street and track refer to bushing durometer. The track bushings are roughly twice the stiffness of the street bushings. Both are many times stiffer than the factory rubber, and the street bushings are better at soaking up drivetrain noise and vibration.
Which bushing should I choose for a daily driven car?Street bushings are the recommended choice for any car that is not purpose built for track or overland use, because they are much less likely to transmit drivetrain noise into the cabin at speed or under heavy load.
What does the both option include?The both option supplies a full set of street bushings and a full set of track bushings. They can be run as all street, all track, or mixed to balance response against noise.
Can the bushings be changed later?Yes. The bushings are interchangeable in the same carrier, so the setup can be changed without buying another carrier.
Does the driveshaft have to come out to install this?No. The two piece carrier clamps around the OEM centre support bearing with the driveshaft still in the car.
Do I need to cut the original carrier off?Yes. The factory carrier is moulded onto the bearing, so a cutting tool is needed to remove it. Pare the rubber back with a razor blade and leave the base layer of moulded rubber on the bearing.
Will this fix a driveline vibration?It removes vibration caused by a sagged or cracked carrier bushing and by the resulting driveshaft misalignment. A vibration from a damaged shaft, worn joint or failed bearing needs those parts addressed as well.
Will the car be noisier after installation?Most cars are quiet with either bushing. Some street bushing cars notice a faint hum in the low speed range that fades at highway speed, and track bushings can add noticeable cabin noise in the low range.
Is the factory bearing reused?Yes. The carrier clamps around the existing centre support bearing, so a bearing that still spins smoothly stays in service and the driveshaft does not have to be replaced.
Which transmissions does this carrier cover?It covers the 01A and 01E equipped B6 and B7 A4 and the 0A3 equipped B6 and B7 S4 and B7 RS4. Cars with the 02X, 5HP19 or 6HP19 need the matching carrier for those transmissions.
Installation Instructions
- Park the vehicle on a level surface, chock the wheels and raise and support it safely so the exhaust tunnel and centre bearing area can be reached.
- Remove any braces or splash shields that block access to the exhaust and heat shielding.
- Remove or lower the exhaust in the area of the centre support bearing if access requires it.
- Remove the heat shielding that covers the centre support bearing.
- Cut the OEM carrier off the bearing, then pare the rubber support material away with a razor blade and leave the base layer of moulded rubber on the bearing intact.
- Clean the bearing outer surface so the new carrier seats squarely against it.
- Fit the selected polyurethane isolator bushings to the carrier halves.
- Clamp the two carrier halves around the OEM bearing and draw the hardware up evenly by hand.
- Torque the carrier hardware and the carrier to body hardware to the values in the supplied instructions and apply the specified thread locker.
- Refit the heat shielding, exhaust, splash shields and braces in the reverse order of removal.
- Lower the vehicle, road test it at low speed and then at highway speed, and recheck the hardware after the first drive.
