Install Instructions
- Raise and support the vehicle on a lift or four jack stands at the factory Corvette jacking points. Do not use a floor jack under the rocker panels or composite body panels.
- Allow the factory exhaust to cool completely before beginning removal. Spray penetrating oil on all clamp hardware and hanger connections if the vehicle has significant mileage.
- Locate the rear factory exhaust clamp at the connection between the mid-section and the axle-back assembly. Loosen and remove the clamp.
- Disconnect the vacuum line from the factory butterfly valve actuator on the OEM muffler assembly. Note the routing of the vacuum line for reconnection to the Kooks 21606750 valve actuators.
- Remove the factory muffler hangers from the body hanger pucks. Slide the OEM axle-back assembly rearward and down to remove from the vehicle.
- Test-fit the Kooks 21606750 over-axle pipes onto the OEM mid-section outlet or Kooks X-pipe outlet. Ensure correct left and right orientation.
- Attach the Kooks muffler bodies to the over-axle pipes. Engage the OEM hanger pucks with the supplied hanger hardware on the Kooks 21606750 muffler bodies.
- Reconnect the factory vacuum line to the Kooks valve actuator ports on each muffler body. The valve actuation system operates at the same vacuum pressure as the OEM NPP system.
- Install and tighten all clamps to the manufacturer-specified torque. Leave clamps slightly loose initially to allow tip alignment adjustment.
- Install the carbon fiber quad tips. Align the tips evenly within the rear bumper cutouts and tighten the tip retention hardware. Final-tighten all clamps once alignment is confirmed.
- Lower the vehicle. Start the engine and test valve operation using the factory NPP switch. Confirm both open and closed valve positions respond correctly. Inspect all connection points for exhaust leaks.
