Installation Instructions

  1. Safely lift and support the vehicle on jack stands with adequate clearance to work under the car.
  2. Remove the driveshaft if required to access the tunnel area and existing torque arm front mount hardware.
  3. Identify and remove the factory torque arm front tunnel mount hardware from the transmission crossmember area.
  4. Position the UMI 2261-B relocation bracket in the tunnel, aligning the mount points with the factory holes or the provided mounting locations as specified in the UMI installation instructions.
  5. Install the provided hardware and snug all fasteners without final torquing until the torque arm is in place and alignment is confirmed.
  6. Install the torque arm into the relocated mount and align it parallel to the driveshaft.
  7. Torque all fasteners to 40 to 50 ft-lbs on the torque arm side and the bracket mounting hardware per UMI's specification.
  8. Reinstall the driveshaft and verify there is no interference between the torque arm, driveshaft, and any body or chassis components through the full range of suspension travel.
  9. Lower the vehicle and verify operation before driving.
