UMI Panhard Bar Relocation Kit in Black for the 1982-2002 Camaro and Firebird
Routing a true dual exhaust on a third or fourth-generation F-body runs straight into the upper panhard rod support. This kit replaces that support with a new heavy-duty bar built from 1.250 inch DOM tubing and drops the lower panhard bar into a pair of CNC machined, laser-cut brackets, which opens up enough room for up to a 3 inch pipe to pass over the passenger-side axle. It bolts in, and it works with the factory bar or an aftermarket one.

One conditional requirement is published by UMI: if the car is running lowering springs, the panhard bar lowering bracket, UMI part number 2063, is also required.
The kit is compatible with the factory panhard bar and with aftermarket bars; UMI supplies an M14 bolt for the aftermarket case and has you reuse the factory bolt with the stock bar.

Installation Instructions
- Raise the rear of the car and place jack stands under the frame so the axle hangs free.
- Use 18mm and 21mm wrenches to unbolt the lower panhard bar and the upper panhard bar at the passenger side.
- Remove the two heat shield screws with a 7mm wrench.
- Use a long extension and a 15mm socket to remove the three bolts holding the upper panhard bar to the driver-side frame.
- Install the two lowering brackets and the round spacer on the passenger side with the new M12 x 80mm bolts and lock nuts, putting the spacer in the top hole where the factory upper bar was removed.
- Attach the new upper panhard bar support at the frame side using the three factory bolts.
- Bolt the other end of the new support to the passenger side with a new M12 x 80mm bolt and lock nut.
- Install the lower panhard bar into the lowering brackets with the nut facing the rear of the vehicle, reusing the factory bolt with a stock bar or the supplied M14 x 80mm bolt with an aftermarket bar.
- Tighten the three 15mm bolts to 60 ft-lbs and the two M12 bolts to 72 ft-lbs.
- Load the rear suspension on jack stands under the rear end, then tighten the lower panhard bar bolt to 90 ft-lbs.
