The XK Glow XKmax Ultra 3-Row Wheel Ring Light Kit (XKGMX-WHEEL-KITB) is a complete four-wheel lighting system built around 16.5-inch reinforced aluminum ring housings packed with three parallel rows of RGBW addressable LEDs. RGBW means each LED contains both a dedicated RGB element and a separate pure white element, giving the XKGMX-WHEEL-KITB the ability to produce vivid color effects and a clean high-output pure white independently.

What is the difference between the XKmax single-row and the XKmax Ultra 3-Row wheel ring kit?

The single-row XKmax kit uses one row of RGBW addressable LEDs per ring. The XKGMX-WHEEL-KITB Ultra 3-Row kit uses three parallel rows of RGBW addressable LEDs per ring, producing approximately three times the light output for dramatically more visible wheel illumination especially in daylight or lit environments. Both kits use the same XKmax app and controller ecosystem; the ultra kit produces a wider, brighter, more uniform glow around the entire circumference of the ring.

Does the XKGMX-WHEEL-KITB work on any car, truck, or Jeep?

The kit is designed for universal fitment on any vehicle with a standard brake dust cover. Before drilling, you must verify clearance between the 16.5-inch ring and the caliper and rotor with the ring positioned on the dust shield. Most passenger cars, trucks, and full-size Jeep JK and JL models have sufficient clearance, but vehicles with very large brake setups or non-standard dust cover geometry should be verified before installation. Larger wheels (17 inches and up) generally provide the best fitment.

Can the XKmax wheel rings automatically blink with the turn signal?

Yes. The included sensor wire system allows the controller to detect the turn signal input and automatically activate amber or white blink on the corresponding side's wheel rings when the turn signal is activated. This requires tapping into the positive turn signal wire on each side of the vehicle. The color and blink behavior of the turn signal function is programmable through the XKmax app.

Do I need to pair the app to both controllers separately?

Yes. Each controller has its own independent Bluetooth signal, so you must open the XKmax app and pair to the left-side controller and the right-side controller as two separate devices. Once both are paired, you can control them simultaneously or independently from the app. The key fob controls both controllers together without requiring a phone.

How is the XKGMX-WHEEL-KITB mounted to the vehicle?

The ring slides over the brake dust cover behind the wheel. You center it on the dust shield, mark three mounting bracket hole locations, drill 1/8-inch pilot holes through the brackets and shield, and bolt the ring in place using the included hardware. The bolts insert from the inside of the dust cover toward the wheel center so there is no interference with the rotor surface. This mounting method is universal across most vehicle platforms.

Can the XKmax rings be set to stay solid white instead of color patterns?

Yes. The RGBW design uses a dedicated pure white LED element separate from the RGB channel. Selecting pure white mode activates only the white LEDs, producing a clean neutral white glow without any RGB color mixing artifacts. This is one of the key advantages of the RGBW design over standard RGB rings that produce a warm yellowish or pinkish result when attempting to display white by mixing red, green, and blue.

Is the XKmax app required, or can the kit be used with the key fob only?

Can the XKmax rings sync to music playing in the vehicle?

Yes. The XKmax app includes a music beat sync mode that uses the phone's microphone to detect audio rhythm and pulse the wheel ring lighting in time with the music. This works with any audio source including the vehicle stereo, phone speakers, or music streaming apps. Speed sync mode is also available, which adjusts the speed of chasing patterns proportionally to vehicle speed via the controller's speed sensor input.

Installation Instructions

• Test all four wheel rings before installation by connecting them to the controller and powering on. Confirm all lights function correctly before drilling any holes.
• Safely lift and support the vehicle on jack stands at the designated chassis lift points, then remove all four wheels and tires.
• Place each wheel ring against the face of the brake dust shield and verify it fits inside the wheel without contacting the caliper or rotor.
• Center the ring on the dust shield and mark the three mounting bracket hole locations using a marker or scratch awl.
• Drill the marked holes using a 1/8-inch drill bit through both the mounting brackets and the dust shield.
• Insert the mounting bolts from the inside (toward the wheel hub) so the bolt heads face inward and cannot contact the rotor. Secure with the included lock washers and nuts, tightening with an Allen wrench and 7mm socket.
• Route the ring wiring through the wheel well, securing to brake lines or chassis harness using zip ties. Keep wire away from moving parts and heat sources. Leave enough slack for full steering lock-to-lock movement.
• Route the 6-foot extension wires from the controller location to the front wheel rings. Route the 12-foot wires between front and rear rings on each side.
• Mount both XKmax controllers in a protected location (such as near the battery). Connect the left-side rings to one controller and the right-side rings to the other. Connect the DC plugs from the power harness to each controller.
