Installation Instructions
- Safely raise and support the vehicle. Drain differential fluid from the GM 14-bolt housing.
- Remove the pinion nut and flange from the pinion shaft.
- Remove the pinion seal. Remove the pinion shaft from the housing, noting the shim arrangement behind the rear pinion bearing.
- Remove the old crush sleeve from the pinion shaft area.
- Clean all components. Inspect pinion bearings and races for wear. Replace as needed.
- Install the solid spacer from the SK CSGM14T onto the pinion shaft in place of the crush sleeve.
- Add shims from the SK CSGM14T kit as needed to achieve the correct pinion bearing preload when the pinion nut is torqued.
- Install a new pinion seal. Reinstall the pinion flange and torque the pinion nut to specification while frequently checking rotating torque with an inch-pound torque wrench until the specified preload is achieved.
