Installation Instructions
- Drain the differential fluid and remove the driveshaft, marking its orientation
- Remove the pinion nut and flange, then extract the pinion shaft from the housing
- Remove and discard the original crush sleeve
- Clean and inspect the pinion bearings and races; replace if worn
- Install the solid spacer from the YUKSK CSGM8.5 kit onto the pinion shaft
- Begin with a shim thickness that will provide a preload near the low end of the specification range
- Reinstall the pinion assembly into the housing and torque the pinion nut
- Measure rolling preload using an inch-pound torque wrench on the pinion flange
- If preload is too low, reduce shim thickness; if too high, increase shim thickness and reassemble
- Once correct preload is achieved, reinstall the pinion seal and complete the differential reassembly
