There is a documented base compatibility exclusion. UMI's product page states the handle is compatible with Hurst, Pro 5.0 and other popular shifter bases, while UMI's own installation sheet for the same item number states twice that it will not fit 1993-2002 models with a stock non-Hurst base. Check which base is in your car before ordering, and do not read the page claim as fitting every base.
UMI's installation sheet titles the part for the 1993-2002 GM F-body 6 speed. The product page itself names no transmission, so the 6 speed reference is reported here as a document detail rather than a published fitment attribute.

Is this a complete shifter?No. It is the handle, or stick, only. It bolts to the shifter base already in the car, so the base, linkage and cables stay in place.

My knob will not clock where I want it. Any fix?UMI suggests wrapping the knob threads with Teflon tape so it tightens in the position you prefer.

Installation Instructions
- Unscrew the shift knob counter-clockwise; it may be tight the first time.
- Remove the leather shifter boot, carefully releasing the two plastic tabs on each side so they are not broken.
- With a 13mm wrench, remove the two bolts on the right side of the factory handle and lift the handle off the base.
- Position the UMI short stick on the left side of the shifter, angled toward the driver's seat, with the milled flat spot flush against the base.
- Apply a small amount of thread lock or Teflon tape, then secure the handle with the two supplied allen bolts and lock washers.
- Refit the shifter boot and thread the knob back on, using Teflon tape on the knob threads if it will not clock to the position you want.
Procedure comes from UMI's own Item 2105 installation sheet. UMI does not host this installation sheet on its own website. The document is UMI's own printed sheet, on UMI letterhead, served from a retailer's static PDF host, so treat it as a manufacturer document on a retailer host rather than a current UMI-hosted page. No torque values are published in that sheet.
