Frequently Asked Questions

What is the CLM06045PTD7RS?

The CLM06045PTD7RS is the Clutch Masters 725 PRO Series twin-disc clutch kit with forged steel flywheel for the 1989-1998 Nissan Skyline, covering the RB25DET and RB26DETT engines. It is rated at approximately 725 lb-ft of torque capacity and uses SFI-certified components.

What is the difference between the CLM06045PTD7RS and CLM06045PTD80S for the Skyline?

The CLM06045PTD7RS is the 725 PRO version rated at approximately 725 lb-ft, while the CLM06045PTD80S is the 850 PRO version with higher capacity ceramic discs rated at approximately 850 lb-ft. The 850 PRO is suited for fully built high-boost RB26DETT setups; the 725 PRO is appropriate for moderately to heavily modified RB25DET and RB26DETT builds.

Does the CLM06045PTD7RS include a flywheel?

Yes. The S suffix in CLM06045PTD7RS confirms the forged steel flywheel is included. The kit ships with the twin-disc clutch pack, flywheel, release bearing, pilot bearing, alignment tool, and hardware.

Will the CLM06045PTD7RS fit RB25DET and RB26DETT engines?

Yes. The CLM06045PTD7RS is designed to fit both RB25DET and RB26DETT variants of the 1989-1998 Nissan Skyline. Confirm your transmission type before ordering to ensure full compatibility.

Is the CLM06045PTD7RS suitable for street use on a Nissan Skyline?

The 725 PRO twin-disc system can be used on the street in a modified Skyline, but expect a firmer pedal and quicker engagement than stock. It is best suited for track-focused and high-powered builds rather than light-duty commuter use.

Is the CLM06045PTD7RS SFI certified?

Yes. Both the pressure plate and the forged steel flywheel included with CLM06045PTD7RS are SFI certified, meeting requirements for sanctioned drag and road racing events.

What torque capacity does the CLM06045PTD7RS support?

The 725 PRO Series provides approximately 725 lb-ft of torque capacity, suitable for built RB25DET single-turbo and moderately modified RB26DETT applications. For higher-output fully built RB26 setups, the 850 PRO (CLM06045PTD80S) provides additional headroom.

How long is the break-in period for the CLM06045PTD7RS?

Clutch Masters recommends a 500-mile break-in period, avoiding aggressive launches and prolonged clutch slip. Proper break-in ensures the ceramic friction surfaces seat correctly and extends service life of the CLM06045PTD7RS system.
