Valves & Components aftermarket parts and performance accessories

Plan a coordinated cylinder-head service or performance build with engine valves, guides, seals, springs, retainers and keepers. Browse Supertech, GSC Power-Division, Ferrea, Brian Crower, COMP Cams and other listed references, plus valve covers and sealing hardware. Start with the engine, cylinder heads and actual camshaft/valve arrangement.

Valves, Guides and Oil Seals

Choose intake and exhaust valves by complete dimensions, material and groove design. Standard and oversize head diameters have different machining needs; a larger valve is not automatically a drop-in or a power improvement.

Match guides to the head bore, valve stem and approved installed geometry. Seals must fit both stem and guide, with correct intake/exhaust coverage and any integrated-seat requirement. Use the exact companion references when a manufacturer specifies a matched combination.

Springs, Retainers and Locks

Compare single, dual and beehive spring packages against the cam requirements and measured installed height. Confirm seat/open pressure, coil-bind margin and retainer-to-guide/seal clearance through actual valve lift.

Retainers and keepers must match spring dimensions, valve grooves, stem diameter and taper. Kit contents vary: some retain OEM pieces, while others supply matched hardware. Confirm quantities and count keeper halves separately from valves covered.

Lash Components and Cylinder-Head Service

Lash caps, hydraulic adjusters and follower shims serve different interfaces. Choose cap dimensions, exact adjuster application or shim thickness from the measured valvetrain setup rather than treating them as substitutes.

Coordinate machining, seat contact, valve clearance and assembly with a qualified engine builder. An engine name or headline RPM/power claim cannot establish that all separately selected components work together.

Valve Covers and Other Service Parts

Compare cover height, head pattern, coil mounts, ventilation and gasket profile for the installed engine. Tall covers require clearance checks around the intake, hood and accessories. Trim covers, grommets and individual seals are separate from complete covers.

The mixed selection also includes named fuel, air, vacuum and clutch-control valves. Select those by their actual system, fluid, pressure and connection requirements; they are separate from cylinder-head intake/exhaust valves.

Choose Your Part

  • Define cylinder-head service, valvetrain upgrade or cover repair.
  • Identify actual engine, head, cam, valves and intended use.
  • Match dimensions and all required companion components.
  • Check package coverage, machining and assembly requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where should I start for a cylinder-head rebuild?

Identify the head and installed valves, then have the builder assess guides, seats, seals and the complete spring/retainer arrangement.

Does an engine-specific listing guarantee every part works together?

No. Compare the actual dimensions and manufacturer-required combinations, especially with aftermarket heads or valves.

Are stronger springs automatically better?

No. Use the pressure and geometry required by the camshaft and complete valvetrain.

Can original locks be used with any new valve?

Only if groove, stem, retainer and complete geometry are explicitly compatible.

Are lash caps and adjusters the same component?

No. Select the required interface and exact dimensions or engine application.

Does every kit service a complete engine?

No. Check intake/exhaust positions, bank coverage, singles, sets and supplied hardware.
