The Acura TLX is Acura's current sport sedan, introduced in 2015 to replace the TL and TSX with a single unified model. The first-generation TLX (2015-2020) used a 2.4L four-cylinder or 3.5L V6, while the fully redesigned second-generation TLX (2021-present) introduced a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder and a high-performance Type S with a 3.0L twin-turbocharged V6 producing 355 horsepower.

Suspension upgrades including coilovers and lowering springs sharpen the TLX's handling on a platform that already delivers solid sport sedan dynamics from the factory. What is the Acura TLX Type S?

The TLX Type S is Acura's high-performance trim introduced in 2021, powered by a 3.0L twin-turbocharged V6 producing 355 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque through a 10-speed automatic and SH-AWD all-wheel drive. It includes Brembo brakes, adaptive dampers, and a more aggressive suspension tune than the standard TLX.

Are TLX parts compatible with the Honda Accord?

The first-generation TLX shares platform elements with the 2013-2017 Honda Accord, meaning some mechanical components are compatible. The second-generation TLX uses a new dedicated Acura platform, reducing direct crossover with the Accord for mechanical parts while retaining some common engine components.
