Our Story

What started as a small speed shop in San Diego has evolved into a leading name in the automotive industry. Here’s a brief overview of our journey:

• 1970: Dave Russell discovers aircraft-quality hoses and fittings at a military surplus store.
• 1974-75: The transition to packaging individual plumbing products for wholesale and retail begins.
• 1978: Russell Performance Products is incorporated, moving operations to Torrance, California.
• 1980s: Expansion into the motorcycle market with prepackaged hoses and fittings for Harley-Davidson bikes.
• 1997: Relocation to Florida due to high business costs in California.
• 2000: Acquisition by Vic Edelbrock Jr. and return to California under Edelbrock facilities.
• 2020: Russell Performance becomes part of the Edelbrock Group, merging with other power brands.
