Trailer Hitches and Couplers

Gen-Y and Weigh Safe references distinguish shank sizes, drop/rise, ball arrangements, tongue/load ratings and complete versus component-only packages. Gooseneck and fifth-wheel hardware have separate coupling requirements from a conventional receiver ball mount.

Match vehicle, receiver, trailer coupler and required height with the actual loaded setup. A tongue-weight gauge, torsion feature or higher-rated hitch does not increase the vehicle’s rated capacity. Respect all applicable component limits.

Winches, Plates and Conversion Kits

Compare complete winches with vehicle/bumper-specific trays and conversion hardware. Check winch dimensions, rope/cable, fairlead, control access and electrical requirements.

Artec, RockJock, ADD, Westin and Superwinch mounting references serve named combinations. A plate or bracket package does not automatically include a winch or every control/line component.

Recovery Points, Straps and Support Gear

Tow hooks, vehicle recovery points, straps, shackles and other accessories have specific tasks and ratings. Race tow straps, controlled towing hardware and off-road recovery equipment should be selected from their actual operating instructions.

PERRIN upgrade-only references require their stated existing mount, while vehicle recovery points have particular side/position applications. Do not substitute a license-plate bracket or unsupported factory attachment for a rated recovery mounting point.

Complete the System Before Use

Compare receiver/pin interfaces, locks, supplied hardware, electrical installation and required restraints. Stabilizing blocks and other support accessories are separate from lifting or towing equipment.

Use the exact manufacturer’s setup, inspection and operating instructions. Choose by the complete vehicle/trailer/recovery arrangement, not a single advertised maximum rating.
