The 880491 NOVA-Series assemblies combine four LED projectors per side with a black housing, sequential amber turn signals, selectable white or amber daytime running lights, and an activation sequence when the optional DRL harness is connected.

What is the 880491?It is the black housing NOVA-Series headlight pair for the tenth generation Honda Civic applications shown in the fitment table.
Do these headlights fit Civics with factory halogen headlights?Yes. Factory halogen applications use a direct connection without a headlight converter.
Do factory LED headlights require a converter?Yes. Civics equipped with factory LED reflector headlights require the AlphaRex reflector headlight converter. The converter is not part of the base headlight package.
Do these headlights fit the Civic Type R?Yes. They fit 2017-2021 Civic Type R FK8 models, including the 2021 Limited Edition, when used with the required factory LED headlight converter.
How does the activation light work?The startup sequence operates when the vehicle is unlocked after the DRL activation harness is installed. The sequence is not available if that harness is omitted.
Can the daytime running light color be changed?Yes. White is the default setting. Connecting the amber selection plug behind the rectangular rear cover changes both assemblies to amber DRL operation.
How do the four projectors operate?All four projectors operate on low beam. The two inner dual beam projectors switch to high beam operation.
Are these headlights street compliant?They meet or exceed SAE and DOT FMVSS 108 requirements and use an American left hand drive cutoff pattern.
What installation work is required?Installation requires front bumper removal, transfer of the original mounting brackets, electrical connections, optional DRL harness routing, and final beam aiming.
What warranty is included?AlphaRex provides a two year warranty against design and manufacturing defects. Installation errors, labor, wear, misuse, and vehicle downtime are excluded.
Installation Instructions
- Disconnect the negative battery terminal before installing 880491.
- Remove the radiator shroud, upper bumper retainers, screws, clips, and other bumper fasteners.
- Disconnect the fog light connectors when equipped, then remove the front bumper.
- Remove the five 10 mm headlight bolts on each side and disconnect the original headlight plugs.
- Transfer the original mounting brackets to the AlphaRex assemblies with the original 10 mm hardware.
- If activation lighting is desired, connect the harness red lead to battery positive, the black lead to battery negative, and the trigger lead to fuse position 11.
- Connect the headlight sockets, DRL leads, and turn signal connectors. Do not apply dielectric grease to the connectors.
- Test low beams, high beams, DRLs, turn signals, and activation lighting before reassembly.
- Reinstall the bumper and removed trim, then aim both headlights evenly from 25 ft away on a level surface.
