Installation Instructions
- Have the pads fitted by a qualified technician, which is what DBA specifies for its friction products.
- Raise the front of the Escalade, remove both front wheels and confirm the caliper is the standard unit rather than the six-piston big brake caliper.
- Inspect both front rotors for scoring, cracking and thickness against the minimum stamped on the hat before fitting new friction.
- Retract the caliper pistons squarely and watch the reservoir level, because a full-size SUV front caliper displaces a lot of fluid.
- Clean the carrier abutments and slider pins so the 138.9 mm pads can move freely under load.
- Fit the four pads with their shims in place, refit the caliper, then pump the pedal firm and check the wheel spins without drag.
- Bed in on a clear road: from 50 km/h (30 mph) brake down to 10 km/h (5 mph) with medium pedal pressure without coming to a stop.
