Installation Instructions
- Review the vehicle service manual and the installation guide for 9-401-7020 before removing the original module.
- Remove and retain the original fuel level sensor, low fuel warning sensor, sensor wiring, and tank mounting gasket.
- Install the retained sensors on the X1 brackets and connect their ring terminals to the labeled posts.
- Lubricate the O-rings, install the return bulkhead first, then install the feed bulkhead and tighten both retaining nuts.
- Fit the prefilter, rubber hose, clamps, and DW400 pump. Orient the filter sock with the float arm and secure the pump with the 2.25 inch clamp.
- Install the convoluted return tube with the pinch clamp and secure it with the supplied zip ties.
- Trim the pump pigtail to approximately 6 inches, crimp the specified terminals, then connect pump positive and pump negative to the labeled posts.
- Install the -6AN to 5/16 inch adapters when retaining the original rubber fuel lines and verify the feed and return routing.
- Wire the module using the original harness as a reference. Use the recommended 10-gauge hardwire kit for the DW400.
- Inspect every fuel and electrical connection, reinstall the module with the retained gasket, prime the system, and check for leaks before operation.
