Goodridge G-Stop Rear Braided Brake Hose Kit for the LX Platform SRT8
This kit replaces the rubber rear brake hoses on the SRT8 versions of the Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, Dodge Magnum and Dodge Challenger with Goodridge G-Stop hose. Each line uses a PTFE inner tube inside a stainless steel overbraid, so the hose barely swells when the pedal is loaded and the pedal stays firm as fluid temperature climbs. Goodridge builds part 12411R with the original style hose ends and chassis brackets so it follows the factory routing.

This kit covers the rear hoses only. Non SRT8 versions of these cars use different rear hose lengths and are not part of this application. Goodridge advises against mixing rubber and braided hoses on the same brake system, so the front hoses should be changed at the same time.

FAQ
What actually changes in the way the pedal feels?A rubber hose swells slightly every time the pedal is pressed, which shows up as travel before the brakes bite. The PTFE liner barely moves, so more of the pedal stroke goes straight into clamping force.
Does this kit cover the front brakes as well?No. These are the rear hoses only. A separate front kit covers the other end of the car.
Can braided rear hoses be run with the original rubber front hoses?Goodridge advises against mixing the two on one system because the two hose types behave differently under pressure. Changing both ends keeps the balance consistent.
Are new sealing washers supplied?Yes. New crush washers come with the kit and the old ones must be discarded rather than reused.
Why are the new lines longer than the originals?Goodridge builds in up to three quarters of an inch of extra length so the hose is never stretched at full suspension droop or full steering lock.
Does the brake system have to be bled afterwards?Yes. The system is opened during the job, so fresh fluid and a full bleed following the vehicle manufacturer procedure are required before the car is driven.
How tight should the banjo bolts be?The plated steel banjo bolts are torqued between fourteen and eighteen pound feet. Caliper and hard line fittings follow the vehicle manufacturer figures instead.
Is any checking needed after the first drive?Yes. All lines and connections should be inspected and re torqued after roughly one hundred miles, and the pedal should feel firm before the car is driven at all.
Will these fit a car with an aftermarket big brake kit?The kit is built around the factory caliper fittings and chassis brackets. A caliper that uses a different inlet or a different mounting position needs a hose matched to that caliper.
Installation Instructions
- Raise the rear of the car, support it on stands and remove both rear wheels, then compare each new hose against the hose it replaces.
- Drain the brake fluid using the vehicle manufacturer method and protect any painted surface near the work area.
- Remove the original hoses one at a time, noting the position of every C clip, locating tab and banjo, and discard the old crush washers.
- Clean each sealing face and check it for damage or corrosion before anything is refitted.
- Fit the new hose starting at the caliper and follow the original routing exactly, always using the new crush washers.
- Leave the fittings finger tight, then confirm every locating tab and bracket is seated so neither end of the hose is under tension.
- Check clearance and length through full suspension travel, making sure the hose has no twist or kink.
- Torque the banjo bolts and end fittings, holding any factory hard line with the correct flare wrench.
- Bleed the system with fresh fluid, check for leaks, confirm a firm pedal, then re torque every connection after about one hundred miles.
