Hawk DTC-70 Race Brake Pads for Alcon Mono 6, Model 4497 Caliper

This is a set of DTC-70 compound race brake pads shaped to fit the Alcon Mono 6, Model 4497 caliper, built for extremely high torque with an aggressive, controllable initial bite in demanding racing conditions.

What It Fits

Alcon Mono 6, Model 4497 caliper. Fitment is by caliper model rather than a single vehicle, so this pad works on any car equipped with this specific Alcon caliper.

What It Does

Delivers extremely high torque with an aggressive initial bite for cars with high deceleration rates, with or without aerodynamic downforce. DTC-70 offers superior release and torque control characteristics and is engineered as a standalone race compound or for split-friction setups paired with DTC-60 on the opposite axle.

Construction

Pad thickness is .630 inches. Hawk's Motorsports Compound pads are not compatible with carbon ceramic rotors; they are designed to work with iron/metal rotors.

What's Included

  • Brake pad set for one Alcon Mono 6, Model 4497 caliper application

Compatibility Limits

Not recommended for street use. DTC-70 does not develop strong bite when cold and performs best once brought up to its 800-1200°F optimal operating range within a 400-1600°F overall range. Do not use with carbon ceramic rotors.

Installation

  1. Remove the wheel and inspect the existing pads, rotor, and caliper for wear or damage before installing new pads.
  2. Retract the caliper pistons per the caliper manufacturer's procedure to create clearance for the new pads.
  3. Install the new pads into the Alcon Mono 6, Model 4497 caliper following the caliper manufacturer's pad retention hardware procedure.
  4. Bed in the new pads per Hawk's recommended bedding procedure before subjecting them to full race-level braking loads.
  5. Recheck pad and rotor condition regularly given the aggressive nature of this compound.
