Installation Instructions
This converter is a universal weld in catalytic converter. Follow these general steps for proper installation:
- Allow the vehicle exhaust system to cool completely before beginning work.
- Position this converter in the exhaust path in the desired location, observing proper flow direction (inlet toward the engine, outlet toward the rear).
- Ensure adequate clearance from the vehicle floor pan, transmission tunnel, and any heat sensitive components.
- Tack weld the inlet and outlet connections to the surrounding exhaust tubing to confirm fitment and alignment before final welds.
- Complete full circumference TIG or MIG welds at both the inlet and outlet joints using a filler compatible with T304 stainless steel.
- Inspect all welds for pinholes or gaps before returning the vehicle to service.
- If installing downstream of long tube headers, an ECU tune is strongly recommended to address O2 sensor fueling and to prevent check engine lights.
