The NGK/NTK NGK24334 is a direct-fit 5-wire wideband air/fuel ratio (A/F) sensor engineered for precision fuel trim and performance tuning across a wide range of applications including the Ford Mustang, Ford F-150, Audi R8, and Porsche Cayenne. Unlike a narrowband O2 sensor that only switches rich or lean near stoichiometry, this wideband A/F ratio sensor measures the full lambda range continuously, delivering a linear output your ECU uses for real-time fuel correction and tuning. It threads directly into the factory M18 x 1.5 bung with an OE-matching 6-terminal rectangular connector for a plug-and-play replacement. Built in Germany to NTK's OE-identical specification, the sensor carries a 60-day limited warranty from NGK/NTK.
Most replacement sensors sold at parts stores are narrowband switching-type O2 sensors. They tell the ECU one thing: rich or lean. The factory wideband A/F ratio sensor on your Mustang GT, F-150 EcoBoost, or Audi R8 does far more. A wideband UEGO (Universal Exhaust Gas Oxygen) sensor measures air/fuel ratios continuously across a range of approximately 10:1 to 28:1. That linear proportional signal is what your ECU uses to maintain precise fuel trims at idle, part throttle, and wide-open throttle.
If a failed wideband sensor is replaced with a narrowband unit, the ECU loses its ability to command closed-loop fuel corrections with any accuracy. On a modified or tuned engine, it can be even worse the standalone ECU or piggyback tune may run excessively rich or lean with no reliable sensor feedback. This sensor matches the OE wideband specification exactly, restoring full-range lambda measurement and the precision your engine management system demands.
NTK is the sensor division of NGK one of the world's largest OEM supplier of oxygen and air/fuel ratio sensors to Ford, Audi, Porsche, and Lincoln from the factory. This sensor is built to the same specification as the OEM unit it replaces, not to a generic aftermarket tolerance.
Key construction details:
Sold individually. No mounting bracket included. No grommet included. Anti-seize compound is not required the sensor threads are pre-treated at the factory.
This direct-fit sensor covers a wide range of Ford, Lincoln, Audi, Porsche, and Mercury applications. Confirm your year, model, engine, and sensor position before ordering. This sensor covers both upstream bank 1 and upstream bank 2 positions depending on application. On the Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty 6.2L V8, this sensor fits position B1S1 (upstream right and upstream left). Some 2008-2010 Ford and Mercury applications may require California Emissions specification verify your emissions package before purchasing.

The NGK/NTK 24334 is a direct-fit replacement. It threads into the factory M18 x 1.5 bung using a 7/8 in. (22 mm) oxygen sensor socket and plugs directly into the factory wiring harness connector without any modification. Allow 30-60 minutes for a typical sensor swap with the vehicle on a lift or jack stands.
Verify sensor position (upstream Bank 1, upstream Bank 2, etc.) before removing the old sensor. On V-engine applications with two upstream sensors, confirm you are replacing the correct bank. Consult your factory service manual or a scan tool with live data to identify which sensor triggered the fault code.
The NGK/NTK 24334 is covered by NGK's 60-day limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty is provided directly by NGK Spark Plugs (U.S.A.), Inc. Some authorized retailers offer their own extended return or replacement policies -- check your seller's terms at time of purchase.
Installing an aftermarket air/fuel ratio sensor will not void your vehicle's factory warranty under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. 2301 et seq.). A manufacturer or dealer cannot void your powertrain warranty solely because you replaced an emissions sensor with an aftermarket part -- they must demonstrate that the aftermarket part directly caused the failure being claimed before warranty coverage may be denied.
California Proposition 65 Warning: This product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and reproductive harm. See www.p65warnings.ca.gov for more information.
NGK Spark Plugs -- operating under parent company Niterra Co., Ltd. is one of the world's largest suppliers of ignition and sensor technology. NTK Technical Ceramics is NGK's dedicated sensor division, supplying OEM-grade oxygen sensors, air/fuel ratio sensors, MAP sensors, and temperature sensors to Ford, Audi, Porsche, Lincoln, and virtually every major automaker. When you install an NTK sensor, you are installing the same specification as the part that came in the vehicle from the factory not a cheaper approximation built to a generic tolerance. For performance builders and tuners, that distinction matters: a sensor that drifts from OE calibration will corrupt your fuel trim data and undermine even the best tune.
What makes the 24334 a wideband sensor rather than a standard O2 sensor?
A standard narrowband O2 sensor operates as a switch it tells the ECU "rich" or "lean" relative to stoichiometry (14.7:1 for gasoline) and has no ability to report how rich or lean the mixture is. It uses a planar zirconia UEGO element that produces a continuous linear output proportional to the actual air/fuel ratio across a range of approximately 10:1 to 28:1. This allows your ECU to maintain precise closed-loop fuel control at all operating conditions -- not just near stoichiometry. On the Ford Mustang GT 5.0L Coyote V8 and the Audi R8 5.2L V10 FSI, the factory calibration relies on wideband sensor data for both idle fuel trim and wide-open throttle enrichment. Substituting a narrowband sensor will cause immediate fuel strategy errors.
Does the 24334 fit both the Ford Mustang GT (5.0L V8) and the Mustang EcoBoost (2.3L I4T)?
Yes. The research-confirmed fitment list covers 2011-2023 Ford Mustang across all available trims and engines for those model years, including the 5.0L Coyote V8, the 5.2L Predator V8 (GT350 / GT350R / GT500), and the 2.3L EcoBoost I4 (2015 and later). The sensor's M18 x 1.5 thread and 6-terminal OE connector match across the Mustang platform. Confirm your specific trim and engine against the fitment table above before ordering.
Will this sensor work on my tuned or E85-converted Mustang or F-150 EcoBoost?
This is an OEM-replacement sensor designed to restore factory wideband function. For standalone tuning applications (Cobb Accessport, HP Tuners, etc.) that use the factory wideband sensor as an input, this sensor will work correctly as a like-for-like replacement. If you are running an aftermarket wideband controller (AEM UEGO, Innovate LC-2, etc.) that feeds a separate gauge or data logger, that is a separate circuit from this sensor the two systems operate independently. This sensor does not come with a standalone controller; it is wired directly to the factory ECU.
What DTCs will clear after replacing this sensor?
Fault codes commonly associated with a failed upstream wideband A/F ratio sensor include: P0130 (O2 sensor circuit bank 1 sensor 1), P0131 (low voltage), P0132 (high voltage), P0133 (slow response), P0134 (no activity), P0135 (heater circuit fault), and P0141 (heater circuit fault bank 1 sensor 2). After replacing the sensor and clearing codes, perform a complete drive cycle to allow the ECU to run its monitor readiness tests before emissions inspection.
Is the 24334 legal in California?
This sensor is a direct OEM-equivalent replacement for vehicles that originally came equipped with a wideband A/F ratio sensor. Because it restores factory emissions function, it does not disable or circumvent emissions control equipment. However, California emissions compliance for specific applications should be verified independently if required. This product does carry a California Proposition 65 warning see the Warranty and Legal section above for the full text.
Will installing the NGK/NTK 24334 void my factory warranty?
No. Under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a vehicle manufacturer or authorized dealer cannot void your factory powertrain or emissions warranty solely because you installed an aftermarket replacement part. To deny warranty coverage, they must demonstrate that the specific aftermarket part directly caused the failure being claimed. An OE-equivalent sensor that restores factory function provides no basis for that claim. If your dealer attempts to deny warranty coverage on this basis, you may reference 15 U.S.C. 2301 et seq.
How many sensors does my vehicle need, and does one package cover both banks?
This listing is for one sensor sold individually. Many V6 and V8 applications use two upstream A/F ratio sensors one per bank (Bank 1 Sensor 1 and Bank 2 Sensor 1). If both sensors are due for replacement or both fault codes are present, you will need to order two units. The Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty 6.2L V8 fitment, for example, is explicitly noted as B1S1 (both upstream right and upstream left positions using this same part number). Check your vehicle's sensor count in the fitment notes column above.
What is the difference between an NGK 24334 and a Bosch 17162 or Denso 234-5016?
All three are aftermarket wideband A/F ratio sensors that cross-reference to the same OEM applications. The NGK/NTK 24334 is built by the company that supplies sensors directly to Ford, Audi, and Porsche as OEM equipment NTK is not a rebranded third-party sensor. Bosch and Denso are also reputable OEM suppliers, but the NGK/NTK unit matches the exact connector geometry, output calibration, and physical dimensions of the factory part for these specific applications. Using the OEM-supplier sensor eliminates the risk of connector fitment issues or calibration offset that can occasionally affect aftermarket cross-references on tightly toleranced factory ECU calibrations like those on the Audi R8 V10 FSI.
Does this sensor fit the Porsche Cayenne, and which engine?
Yes. The 24334 fits the 2008, 2009, and 2010 Porsche Cayenne across the Base, GTS, S, Turbo, and Turbo S trims. The Cayenne uses a 3.6L V6 in the base, a 4.8L V8 in the S and GTS, and a twin-turbo 4.8L V8 in the Turbo and Turbo S. Confirm your specific engine application against the fitment table. The OEM Porsche part numbers replaced are 95560612930 and 95860612901.
What diagnostic tool do I need to verify the sensor is working after installation?
Any OBD-II scan tool with live data streaming can confirm sensor function. You want to observe the A/F ratio sensor output transitioning through its full linear range during a drive cycle ideally reviewing both idle (closed-loop stoichiometric target) and light throttle enrichment. On Ford platforms, Ford-specific scan software (FORScan is a popular free option) will display wideband sensor output in lambda or AFR units with more granularity than a generic code reader. For Audi and Porsche, VCDS (VAG-COM Diagnostic System) from Ross-Tech provides the deepest access to live sensor data.
