Installation Instructions
- Confirm K5487 and the exact vehicle application before disassembly.
- Park on a hard level surface, chock the wheels, loosen the lug nuts, raise the vehicle at the specified lift points, and support it with rated jack stands.
- Remove the wheel, support the caliper without loading the brake hose, then remove the pads, caliper bracket, and rotor.
- Clean the hub mating surface, wash and dry the new rotor, install it, and check lateral runout against the vehicle manufacturer's specification.
- Install the new hardware and pads, lubricate only the specified contact points, then reinstall the bracket and caliper using the vehicle manufacturer's torque specifications.
- Bleed the brake system according to the factory service procedure, set the brake fluid level, reinstall the wheel, and torque the lug nuts in the required sequence.
- Pump the brake pedal until it is firm before moving the vehicle.
- For break in, make five moderate stops from 40 mph to 10 mph, then five moderate stops from 35 mph to 5 mph without coming to a complete stop. Drive for about five minutes to cool the brakes and never cool them with water.
