Installation Instructions
- Park the car on a level surface, apply the parking brake, chock the rear wheels and raise and support the front of the car safely on stands.
- Locate the front sway bar mounts on the chassis rails and clean dirt and corrosion away from the brackets.
- Support the sway bar, then remove the mount bracket fasteners on one side.
- Withdraw the bracket and remove the worn rubber mount bushing from the bar.
- Clean the bar surface and the bracket seat, and inspect the bar for wear ridges, corrosion or damage.
- Apply the supplied grease to the bore of the new SPF0521-21K bushing and fit it to the bar with the split seated as designed.
- Refit the bracket over the bushing and start the fasteners by hand.
- Repeat the process on the opposite mount so both bushings are fitted before final tightening.
- Torque the bracket fasteners to the Volvo service specification and confirm the bar can rotate in the bushings without binding.
- Lower the car, road test it and recheck the bracket fasteners after the first short drive.
