This U-bolt set exists because a lifted YJ front pack, especially one with an added leaf or a block, needs a longer clamp than the factory U-bolt, and because reusing stretched U-bolts on a front axle is poor practice.
FAQ
Why does the set mix two different inside diameters?The front spring seats on the YJ do not present an identical stack at every position, so the kit supplies two 2.5 in ID U-bolts and two 3 in ID U-bolts rather than four identical parts.
Is this kit for a stock Wrangler or a lifted one?It is aimed at vehicles running a lift kit, which is where the longer 7 in and 7.75 in lengths become necessary.
Does one kit do the whole front axle?Yes. Four U-bolts is the full front axle count on a leaf-sprung YJ, two per side.
Are nuts and washers included, or do I reuse the old ones?New nuts and washers come with the kit, and reusing old U-bolt nuts on a front axle is not worth the risk.

Installation Instructions
- Support the Jeep on stands under the frame and take the load off the front leaf springs before loosening anything.
- Remove the old U-bolts one side at a time so the axle stays located by the other side while you work.
- Compare each new U-bolt against the seat it is going into, since the kit deliberately supplies two inside diameters and two lengths.
- Check the spring pack, centre pin and spring plate for damage while everything is apart.
- Fit the correct U-bolt over the axle and through the plate, keeping the legs parallel and the bend fully seated.
- Start the supplied nuts and washers by hand on clean threads.
- Tighten in an alternating pattern so the spring plate pulls down evenly, using the torque figure from the lift kit instructions.
- Lower the Jeep, roll it back and forth to settle the suspension, then re-check every nut after the first drive and again after a few hundred miles.
