The Vossen HFX-5 is a 6-lug Hybrid Forged wheel built on Vossen's flow forming platform, designed specifically for 6-lug light trucks, SUVs, and full-size pickup trucks. The HFX-5 uses a multi-spoke face design with an aggressive deep concave profile that fills the fender well on lifted and leveled trucks. Each HFX-5 is manufactured using Vossen's flow forming process, which produces a stronger and lighter barrel than conventional casting.
Hybrid Forged Flow Forming Process
The HFX-5 begins as a gravity-cast aluminum face. After casting, the wheel is mounted to a flow forming drum and hydraulic rollers stretch and compress the barrel material radially, improving grain structure. This produces a barrel that is denser, stronger, and lighter than a conventionally cast barrel. The result approaches the properties of a fully forged barrel at a lower cost.
Deep Concave Profile
The HFX-5 is offered in a Deep concave profile. The deep profile positions the face of the wheel significantly inboard relative to the outer lip, creating pronounced three-dimensional depth especially visible on trucks with wider-than-stock tires. It also maximizes brake caliper clearance.
