Hybrid Forged Flow Forming Process

The HFX-5 begins as a gravity-cast aluminum face. After casting, the wheel is mounted to a flow forming drum and hydraulic rollers stretch and compress the barrel material radially, improving grain structure. This produces a barrel that is denser, stronger, and lighter than a conventionally cast barrel. The result approaches the properties of a fully forged barrel at a lower cost.

Deep Concave Profile

The HFX-5 is offered in a Deep concave profile. The deep profile positions the face of the wheel significantly inboard relative to the outer lip, creating pronounced three-dimensional depth especially visible on trucks with wider-than-stock tires. It also maximizes brake caliper clearance.
