The Baja Designs 668615 LP9 Light Pod Lens Kit gives LP9 owners a direct, warranty-safe path to a Factory Amber Driving/Combo lens without replacing the entire light. SKU 668615 (MPN 668615) fits every LP9 variant LP9 Pro, LP9 Sport, and LP9 Racer Edition making it a truly universal upgrade for the LP9 platform. The Factory Amber lens produces a true amber color temperature engineered to match OEM vehicle running lights, and the Driving/Combo beam pattern combines a 42-degree driving optic with a 9-degree spot to deliver smooth, blended coverage across Zones 1, 2, and 3. Each kit ships with one lens and one replacement O-ring. The light pod is sold separately.
Factory Amber vs. Baja Amber vs. Clear Which Lens Is Right for You?
Baja Designs offers three lens colors across the LP9 family. Each serves a distinct purpose, and choosing the wrong one for your conditions leaves real performance on the table.
Factory Amber (668615 and 668614) is engineered to match the true amber-orange hue of OEM vehicle running lights. It produces approximately 30% less raw output than Baja Amber, but that reduction is intentional in dense snow, white-out conditions, or extreme low-visibility driving, less output means fewer reflections back at the driver. Factory Amber increases depth perception and keeps the light spread readable when the road or trail ahead is obscured. It is not SAE-approved for use on street-legal lighting circuits.
Baja Amber (668611 and 668613) is Baja Designs' primary performance amber lens. It uses a gold/yellow tint calibrated for dust, rain, fog, and snow -- the full range of off-road and overland conditions. It delivers more total output than Factory Amber while still suppressing the glare and washout that Clear lenses produce in airborne particulate.
Clear (668601 and 668603) is the original LP9 lens. It transmits the full 5,000K daylight output of the LP9 LED array with no color filtration, giving maximum terrain recognition and the lowest driver fatigue in clean-air conditions. Clear is the right choice for most night driving situations where visibility is not impaired by weather or dust.
| Lens Color | Best Conditions | Output vs. Clear | SAE Street Legal | Spot SKU | Driving/Combo SKU |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Clear | Clean air, dry roads, maximum visibility | 100% (baseline) | Yes | 668601 | 668603 |
| Baja Amber | Dust, rain, fog, mixed off-road | Reduced vs. Clear | Yes | 668611 | 668613 |
| Factory Amber | Snow, white-out, extreme low visibility | ~30% less than Baja Amber | No | 668614 | 668615 (this kit) |
Driving/Combo Beam Pattern Zones 1 Through 3
The Driving/Combo pattern built into 668615 is the most versatile single-light beam pattern in the LP9 lineup. It combines two distinct optics in one lens:
- 42-degree driving optic a wide lateral spread that fills in the near and mid-field on either side of the vehicle (Zones 1 and 2)
- 9-degree spot optic a tighter center beam that pushes light into Zone 3, the mid-distance range ahead of the vehicle
The result is a smooth, continuous blend of light from close in to the vehicle all the way out to Zone 3 no dark gaps, no harsh transition. This makes Driving/Combo the preferred choice for trail driving, overlanding, and any situation where you need both near-field obstacle detection and mid-range path visibility from a single light. If your application requires dedicated long-range illumination beyond Zone 3, pair this light with an LP9 Spot pattern lens (668614 for Factory Amber Spot).
Baja Designs uses a five-zone lighting model. Zones 1 and 2 cover the immediate and near-field areas around the vehicle; Zone 3 is mid-distance; Zones 4 and 5 are the long-range projection zones addressed by Spot-only patterns. The Driving/Combo covers Zones 1--3 in a single lens.
What's Included in Kit 668615
The 668615 kit contains exactly two items:
- (1) Factory Amber Driving/Combo Hardcoated Polycarbonate Lens the replacement lens for your LP9 Pro, LP9 Sport, or LP9 Racer Edition light
- (1) Replacement O-Ring the same O-ring that seals the LP9 housing to its IP69K waterproof and dustproof rating; replacing the O-ring every time you swap a lens is required to maintain the IP69K seal
This kit does NOT include the LP9 light pod, LED array, mounting bracket, wiring harness, or bezel. It is a lens replacement kit only. The LP9 light pod is sold separately see the LP9 Pro, LP9 Sport, and LP9 Racer Edition product listings on our site.
Installation requires a 4mm Allen wrench. Remove the six bolts on the back of the light, separate the front bezel from the housing, swap the lens, seat the new O-ring in the O-ring groove, reassemble the bezel, and torque the bolts to 25 lbf-in (approximately 2.1 ft-lb) in a criss-cross pattern.

Lifetime Warranty and Prop 65
Baja Designs backs every product they manufacture with a lifetime warranty against manufacturer defects. The BAJ668615 lens kit carries that full lifetime warranty. Equally important: installing this lens kit using Baja Designs' uService technology does not void the warranty on your LP9 light pod. Baja Designs designed the LP9 specifically to allow user-serviceable lens swaps, and they confirm in writing that lens replacement does not affect the pod warranty.
Under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, an aftermarket part cannot void your vehicle manufacturer's factory warranty unless the dealer or manufacturer can demonstrate that the aftermarket part directly caused the specific failure being claimed. Installing auxiliary lighting accessories and lens kits does not void your vehicle's powertrain or electrical warranty.

About Baja Designs
Baja Designs was founded in 1992 in San Marcos, California, with one objective: build the most technically advanced off-road lighting available. Known as "The Scientists of Lighting," Baja Designs engineers and manufactures their lights in the USA. The LP9 series represents the top of their round auxiliary light lineup IP69K rated, IK10 impact certified, and tested to MIL-STD-810G military specification. Every LP9 light is driven at 100% LED capacity via their CopperDrive technology, and every lens uses their ClearView optic system for maximum pattern precision. The uService design philosophy means any LP9 owner can swap lenses, replace an O-ring, or service their light on the trail without special tools, voiding their warranty, or sending the light back to the factory.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which LP9 models does the 668615 fit?
668615 fits all three LP9 series light pods: LP9 Pro, LP9 Sport, and LP9 Racer Edition. It is a universal fit across every beam pattern and lens color variant within the LP9 family. It does not fit LP6, LP4, Squadron, or S2 lights those series use different housing diameters or different lens mount systems.
What is the difference between Factory Amber and Baja Amber?
Both are amber lenses designed for low-visibility driving, but they are optimized for different conditions. Baja Amber is Baja Designs' primary performance amber it cuts through dust, rain, fog, and general off-road grime with more total output than Factory Amber. Factory Amber is calibrated to match the true amber color of OEM vehicle running lights, and it intentionally produces approximately 30% less output than Baja Amber. In dense snow or white-out conditions, that lower output reduces reflections back at the driver and improves depth perception. Factory Amber is the right choice when maximum reflection suppression matters more than maximum output.
What does Driving/Combo mean, and what zones does it cover?
The Driving/Combo pattern in 668615 combines two optics in one lens: a 42-degree driving spread for near and mid-field lateral coverage (Zones 1 and 2) and a 9-degree spot optic that pushes light into Zone 3 for mid-range distance illumination. The result is a smooth, gap-free light field from close in to mid-distance ahead of the vehicle. If you need coverage beyond Zone 3 (dedicated long-range Zones 4 and 5), add a Spot-pattern lens to a second LP9 running alongside this one.
Does 668615 include the LP9 light pod?
No. 668615 is a lens replacement kit only. It includes one Factory Amber Driving/Combo lens and one O-ring. The LP9 light pod housing, LED array, mounting bracket, and wiring harness are all sold separately. You must already own an LP9 Pro, LP9 Sport, or LP9 Racer Edition light to use this kit.
What is the O-ring for, and do I need to replace it every time?
The O-ring creates the airtight, waterproof seal between the lens and the LP9 housing that gives the LP9 its IP69K rating (waterproof to 9 feet and pressure-wash safe). Baja Designs recommends installing the new O-ring every time you swap a lens. Reusing an old or compressed O-ring risks breaking the IP69K seal and allowing moisture intrusion into the housing. The kit includes a fresh O-ring specifically so you can maintain that seal properly.
Will installing 668615 void my LP9 light pod's warranty?
No. Baja Designs built the LP9 with uService technology precisely to allow user-serviceable lens swaps. Lens replacement using the provided hardware and correct O-ring installation procedure does not void the LP9 pod warranty. The 668615 lens kit itself also carries Baja Designs' lifetime warranty against manufacturer defects.
Does the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act protect me if a dealer claims this voids my vehicle warranty?
Yes. Under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. ss 2302), a vehicle manufacturer or dealer cannot void your factory warranty solely because you installed an aftermarket accessory. They would need to demonstrate that the specific aftermarket part directly caused the specific failure being claimed. Adding auxiliary lighting accessories does not affect powertrain, drivetrain, or structural warranty coverage.
Does this product carry a Prop 65 warning?
Yes. Baja Designs lists a California Proposition 65 warning on all LP9 lens kit product pages: "WARNING: Cancer and Reproductive Harm." California residents should review www.p65warnings.ca.gov for more information.
What are the other LP9 lens kit options available?
The full LP9 lens kit family includes six SKUs, covering two beam patterns and three lens colors:
- 668601 -- Spot / Clear
- 668603 -- Driving/Combo / Clear
- 668611 -- Spot / Baja Amber
- 668613 -- Driving/Combo / Baja Amber
- 668614 -- Spot / Factory Amber
- 668615 -- Driving/Combo / Factory Amber (this kit)
If you are running a pair of LP9 lights, a common setup is one Driving/Combo lens for near and mid-field coverage and one Spot lens for long-range projection in the same lens color family.
Is the LP9 still waterproof after installing 668615?
Yes provided the O-ring included in the kit is properly seated in the O-ring groove of the housing during installation. The included O-ring is the same seal that gives the LP9 its IP69K waterproof and dustproof rating. Install the new O-ring, torque the six bezel bolts to 25 lbf-in in a criss-cross pattern, and the light returns to full IP69K certification. Do not reuse the old O-ring.
