Installation Instructions

1. Confirm the vehicle year, make, model, submodel, rear position, and application for 1115-0458-01.
2. Review the vehicle service manual. Prepare approved support stands, suitable hand tools, eye protection, brake cleaner, and high temperature brake grease.
3. Park on a stable surface, secure the vehicle, loosen the wheel fasteners, and support the vehicle according to the service manual.
4. Remove the rear wheel. Secure the brake rotor with wheel fasteners if the service procedure requires it.
5. Open the brake master cylinder reservoir cap and monitor the fluid level while retracting the rear piston.
6. Remove the rear caliper hex plug. Use the specified Allen wrench to turn the piston adjuster counterclockwise and retract the piston.
7. Remove the lower caliper bolt and swing the caliper up. Support the caliper so the brake hose is not strained.
8. Remove the old pads and inspect the shims, springs, sliding clips, piston boot, and caliper hardware for damage or contamination.
9. Clean approved contact areas. Install the replacement pads and supplied rear hardware kit in the correct position. Apply brake grease only to approved pad contact areas.
10. Reinstall the caliper and tighten the fasteners to the vehicle manufacturer specifications. Ensure the caliper boots and sliding components are seated correctly.
11. Adjust the rear piston until the pads contact the rotor, then back the adjuster off approximately one third of a turn. Reinstall and tighten the hex plug.
12. Reinstall the wheel and tighten the wheel fasteners to the vehicle manufacturer specifications.
13. Press the brake pedal several times until a firm pedal is established. Check the fluid level and inspect for leaks before moving the vehicle.
14. In a safe, flat area, complete the recommended bedding procedure. Test braking at low speed before returning to normal driving.
15. Recheck braking operation, wheel rotation, and fluid level after the first drive. Follow the service manual for final inspection and maintenance.
