Installation Instructions
- Safely raise and support the vehicle and remove the front wheels
- Remove the caliper slide pin bolts or guide pins and slide the caliper off the rotor without disconnecting the brake line
- Suspend the caliper from the strut or control arm with a wire hook to avoid stressing the brake hose
- Remove old pads from the caliper bracket and clean all pad contact surfaces and guide rails with a wire brush
- Apply a thin film of high-temperature ceramic brake lubricant to bracket contact points and caliper guide surfaces only, not on friction surfaces or rotor face
- On 6-piston calipers, use a C-clamp or dedicated piston compression tool to retract all pistons evenly into the bore before installation
- Install the new RP.14051.1 pads into the caliper bracket ensuring correct orientation per caliper markings
- Reinstall the caliper over the new or existing rotor and torque all fasteners to manufacturer specification
- Reinstall the wheel and torque lug nuts to spec in a star pattern
- Repeat on the opposite side
- Pump the brake pedal firmly until full pedal pressure is restored before moving the vehicle
- Perform a full bed-in procedure before committing to aggressive or emergency braking
